All F 학점의 사연

미국 어느 대학교 경제학 교수가 재미있는 실험을 했다. 이 교수는 지금까지 경제학을 가르쳐 오면서 단 한명에게도 F 학점을 줘 본일이 없었는데 놀랍게도 이번 학기에 수강생 전원이 F를 받았다 고 한다. 학기초에 학생들은 오바마의 복지정책이 올바른 선택이고 국민이라면 그 어느 누구도 가난하거나 지나친 부자로 살아서는 안된다고 했다. 평등한 사회에서는 누구나 다 평등한 부를 누릴수 있어야 한다고 주장 한 거지. 그러자 교수가 한가지 제안을 했다. 그렇다면 이번 학기에 이런 실험을 해 보면 어떨까? 수강생 전원이 클래스 평균점수로 똑같은 점수를 받으면 어떻겠냐?고 학생들은 모두 동의를 했고 그 학기 수업이 진행되었다. 얼마 후 첫번째 시험을 보았는데, 전체 평균점이 B 가 나와서 학생들은 모두 첫시험 점수로 B 를 받았다. 공부를 열심히 한 애들은 불평했고 놀기만 했던 애들은 좋아했다. 그리고 얼마 후 두번째 시험을 쳤다. 공부 안하던 애들은 계속 안했고 전에 열심히 하던 애들도 이제는 자기들도 공차를 타고싶어 시험공부를 적게 했다. 놀랍게도 전체평균이 D 학점이 나왔고 모든 학생이 이 점수를 받게 되었다. 이번에는 모든 학생들이 학점에 대해 불평했지만 그래도 공부를 열심히 하려는 애들은 없었다. 그 결과 다음 3번째 시험은 모두가 F 를 받았으며 그후 학기말까지 모든 시험에서 F 학점을 받았다. 학생들은 서로를 비난하고 욕하고 불평했지만 아무도 남을 위해 더 공부하려고는 하지 않았다. 결국 모든 학생들이 학기말 성적표에 F 를 받았다. 그제서야 교수가 말했다. 이런 종류의 무상복지 정책은 필연적으로 망하게 되어있다. 사람들은 보상이 크면 노력도 많이 하지만 열심히 일하는 시민들의 결실을 정부가 빼앗아서 놀고먹는 사람들에게 나누어 준다면 아무도 열심히 일하지 않을 것이다 라고. 이런 상황에서 성공을 위해 일할 사람은 아무도 없을 것이니까 다섯줄 요약 1. 부자들의 부를 빼앗아 가난한 사람들을 부자가 되게할 수는 없다. 2. 한 명이 공짜로 혜택을 누리면 다른 한 명은 반드시 보상이 없이 일해야 한다. 3. 정부는 누군가에게서 빼앗은 것이 아니라면 그 어떤 것도 가난하고 게으른 사람들에게 줄 수 없다. 4. 부를 분배함으로서 부를 재창출 하는 것은 불가능하다. 5. 국민의 절반이 일하지 않아도 나머지 절반이 먹여살려줄거라는 생각은 국가 쇠망의 지름길이다. [원문] THIS TEACHER ROCKS! Entire Class Fails when Obama’s Socialism Experiment Fails. An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all). After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on) These are possibly the 5 best sentences you’ll ever read and all applicable to this experiment: 1.You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. 2.What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. 3.The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. 4.You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!. 5.When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
